REPORT: MAJOR COLLAPSE AT FRANKLIN LIMESTONE MINE CRAB ORCHARD (LHOIST NORTH AMERICA)

CNF has learned of a major collapse within what is formerly known as Franklin Limestone mines in Crab Orchard this morning. According to sources, no one was injured when a portion of the mine caved in.  A plume of lime dust was blown as far as I-40 and some of the local structures received some damage. MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) is on the scene today to investigate the collapse.  The internal collapse of the mine, now owned by Lhoist North America and is approximately two miles deep into the mountain with three levels,  occurred around 6:30 this (Friday) morning.  There were workers at the mine but none suffered injuries according to sources.
