MYSTERY MAN PAYS OFF LAY-A-WAYS AT MIDDLE TN WALMART, BRINGS TEARS TO SHOPPERS
FAIRVIEW, Tenn. (WKRN) – The spirit of Christmas has touched several shoppers and employees inside the Fairview Walmart Supercenter.
Tiffany Killmer told WKRN she was brought to tears after receiving a phone call from a store employee saying her $373 layaway had been paid off by a stranger.
“I honestly couldn’t believe it,” said Killmer, adding that it’s been a difficult year, “We’ve been struggling for a while.”
“I didn’t know how we were going to get that,” she said.
But Tuesday morning, a man that wanted to remain anonymous, walked into the store offering to help.
He told employees he had $10,000 and wanted to pay off every layaway that included toys. A store manager said he ended up paying off nine layaways that equaled around $2,000.
Several shoppers also reported seeing a man walking around the store paying $100 towards their purchases.
Some consider his kindness a Christmas miracle and believe Santa himself is in the small town of Fairview, about 35 miles southwest of Nashville.
