LOUD BOOM SHAKES HOMES IN NORTHERN CUMBERLAND COUNTY OVERNIGHT
Some residents of Potato Farm Road in northern Cumberland County are wondering just what was the loud boom they heard around mid-night last night. The sound was so loud it shook at least two houses prompting some to come outside to see if there was any damage. We’ve checked with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department dispatch who said they had no record of any kind of disturbance around that time. The U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake map shows no activity in that location either. Sometimes very small and deep earth quakes can cause a loud ‘boom’ sound. Oklahoma has been plagued with these for the last couple of years.
