The District 6AAA High School Basketball Tournament begins this Thursday at Cumberland County High School. Both SMHS teams will see action Thursday with the CCHS Jets taking the court for the first time in the tournament on Friday. The Lady Jets, the girls top-seed, received a bye and will play their first tourney game in the semi-finals on Saturday. Thursday at 6:00 the Lady Panthers take on the Lady Cavaliers of Cookeville then at 7:30 the Panthers meet the Pioneers of Warren County. Friday at 6:00, in a girls game Rhea County plays Warren County followed by the Jets game with Rhea County. The winners on Thursday and Friday advance to the semi-finals set for Saturday and also earn a Region Tournament berth. Stone Memorial games will air on Mix 99.3 and CCHS games are on 102.5 WOW COUNTRY.
