At least two county residents have been hit with a pseudo-Publishers Clearing House phone scam claiming they won a new car and a million bucks in cash.  Sound too good to be true – yep.  The caller instructed the almost-victims that in order to collect their prizes they needed to call another number to verify their winnings.  But the women were too wise and began asking questions of the caller – which ticked-off the scammer and they hung up.  The authorities were notified of the call.  As always, never give out any personal information to anyone you don’t know
