WOMAN FOUND SHOPPING INSIDE IGA STORE -ALONE- AN HOUR AFTER CLOSING

CROSSVILLE POLICE REPORT:

On 10/13/2021 City Units responded to the Priceless IGA for an alarm call. Upon arrival I began checking the left side doors of the building and they were secured. As I walked past the front window of the store I observed a female subject to be standing at a cash register inside the store. The female subject threw her hands up and pointed to the register as if she was attempting to purchase an electric cart full of groceries. The store had been closed for approx. 1 hour and there were no workers inside the store. I identified the female subject as Carmella Dykes. Dispatch advised she had 2 local failure to appear warrants. I waived for her to come to the door and use the emergency locks on the door to exit. When she exited the store I placed her under arrest. The store manager was called to the scene to observe video footage and she was observed inside the store for over 2 hours. The manager stated that he had locked up the store and did not realize she was located in the store. She was transported to the County Jail without incident
