“WHITE VAN” WITH SUSPICIOUS MAN BACK IN THE NEWS, CHATTANOOGA

The mysterious “White Van” has surfaced again in the news.  This time in Chattanooga.  You’ll recall there were several reports of a man in  white van seemingly trying to lure children to get in his vehicle around Cumberland County not long ago.  Police reports were filed but no crime was ever reported.  Here is a story from WRCB-TV in Chattanooga today with a similar incident.

Hamilton County officials are warning parents, particularly in Hixson, to be on the look out for a man taking pictures of young children.
An announcement was made in Vandergriff Park this afternoon (July 15th)  after several concerned parents complained.
Channel-3 was able to pull an incident report from late May, that details the same thing: a man in a white van taking pictures of children.
Police confirm it was the same man from the incident Wednesday.

Lt. Craig Joel, Chattanooga Police, “He showed us his camera, showed us this pictures he had been taking, there was no reports by any parent or any allegations up to that point, he had been soliciting children or luring children, he was in a place he was legally allowed to be but it created problems at the park, and obviously upset parents, and we had to respond to that.”

Police say in both instances they asked the man to leave, and he did so willingly. We are not using his name since officials tell us no crimes were committed..
