VIDEO: HISTORY OF CUMBERLAND COUNTY, COMMEMORATING 160TH ANNIVERSARY

It was 1996. Governor Ned Ray McWherter had commissioned each county to come up with some kind of program to commemorate the Bi-Centennial of Tennessee.  Local video producer Tony Perry was commissioned by the Cumberland County Tennessee Bi-Centennial Committee to produce a documentary telling the story of the early beginnings of Cumberland County. The video below is that presentation – originally produced in 1996.  Perry was directed by county historians Barbara Parsons and the late Donald Brookhart throughout the production.  The original production was recorded on analogue video tape and later converted to digital format then distributed on DVD in 2006.  Here is the complete program for our CNF viewers to watch on the 160th anniversary of Cumberland County.
