STUDENTS WITH CELL PHONES AT SCHOOL? BOE REVIEWS CURRENT POLICY

Pupils-using-mobile-phone-007The Board of Education wants to review its policy for taking away students cell phones for a week or longer if they get caught with the device turned on or in public view even.  The Policy Committee has recommended waiving the policy until the Director of Schools meets with principals to discuss whether the policy can be relaxed somewhat.  Parents have expressed concerns that the rules for their kids having cell phones and other devices are too strict saying they have given the phones to the students for safety and do not want the cell phones taken away from their kids for days.
