SHERIFF: GA MAN SAYS DOG DROVE HIM TO STORE TO GET CORN

dog-driving-car-0808-lg-86831827A Georgia man has been arrested for drunk driving after he told deputies his dog drove him to the store to buy some corn.

Wesley Mark Terrell, 60, was arrested Wednesday when the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a dog locked in a hot car. The outdoor temperature was 99 degrees and the internal temperature of the car was recorded at 123 degrees. Deputies say there was also a can of gasoline in the car.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Terrell, who appeared highly intoxicated, told responding officers the dog drove him to the store called Bell’s in order to buy some corn.

He was charged with Animal Cruelty and DUI. Animal control took custody of the dog.
