If you’ve noticed it has been quite hazy lately, you’re not alone.  In Nashville, FOX 17 Chief Meteorologist Katy Morgan says Saharan dust will be moving into Tennessee for the next few afternoons.

Saharan dust is mineral dust from Africa that travels across the Atlantic Ocean to help suppress Atlantic hurricane development.

Sometimes strong upper-level winds can carry the dust into the US.

What does it mean for Tennessee? Residents can expect to possibly see a little haze in the sky and especially beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Air quality should be OK , but could affect a very small population of people with sensitivities to air quality changes. Otherwise, the dust should not impact the weather.
