REPORT: CROSSVILLE MAN ATTACKS WIFE WITH SCREWDRIVER, EXPOSES DEPUTIES AND NURSE TO HEPATITIS

new-generic-police-lights-1Being a law enforcement officer comes with many dangers, not the least of which include exposure to disease.  That was the case when Cumberland County Deputies attempted to arrest a man who was attacking his wife with a screwdriver threatening to kill her.  According to reports, 33 year old Rudolph Antonius Lutz of Crossville had been holding his wife captive in a closet as well.  When deputies tried to place Lutz under arrest, he attacked them too which ended up getting Lutz’ blood on the deputies.  Now it has been learned Lutz probably has Hepatitis.  But it doesn’t end there.  Lutz was taken to CMC for treatment and bit the nurse attending him.  Lutz has been charged with kidnapping, three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of criminal exposure to Hepatitis, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He’s being held on $100,000 bond.
