PHONY NURSE TRIES TO SCAM DRUGS FROM TANSI RESIDENCE

police-blotter-graphicIn the latest scheme to obtain drugs illegally, authorities helped to thwart a Red Cross Nurse scam recently in Lake Tansi. Officers got a call that a woman dressed in nursing scrubs had come to a home in Tansi and claimed to be from the Red Cross. The phony nurse said she was there to collect any drugs that were no longer used or needed and that she would dispose of them for the resident. Police stopped a vehicle matching the suspects’ description and arrested the driver, 26 year-old Zachary Daniel Pittman, of Hatler Road, Crossville, and passenger, 29 year-old Crystal Elizabeth Simmons, of Hatler Road, Crossville. A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia in Simmon’s possession. Both Pittman and Simmons face an October 13th court date on charges of Criminal Impersonation and Manufacturing, Delivery and Sell of a controlled substance. (102.5 News)
