We had a visitor at the Sheriff’s Office today that teaches everyone what a truly thankful heart is all about. A nine-year-old girl, Kenzie Parker, delivered 10 Thanksgiving meals to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office to distribute to families in need. Her grandfather, Shawn Denton, said that she works and saves her money all year so that she can be able to help families have a Thanksgiving meal. Mr. Denton then matches whatever she saves and they work with several different groups to provide a Thanksgiving meal to those in need.

This is the 5th year that Kenzie has been involved with blessing families. They are blessing 65 families with a turkey and all the trimmings for a Thanksgiving meal. Sheriff Cox said, “seeing this young lady blessing families at this age warmed his heart and gave him great hope for the future”.
