LIVE ROUND OF MILITARY AMMO FOUND IN CROSSVILLE DETONATED BY BOMB SQUAD

It was quite a scare last night in Cumberland County when most of the county received a reverse 911 message advising residents to be prepared to evacuate their houses. In fact, the message was mistakenly transmitted by the county alert system to thousands more than intended.  But there was indeed a threat -only to residents near Burger King in Crossville.  There, someone had found a live round of what appeared to be vintage military ammo while clearing out a shed.  According to reports, the Knox County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad was called in to investigate. The experts determined the device was ‘live’ and had the appearance of a bazooka shell.  It was taken to an area off Bradshaw Lane in Westel and detonated around 1 am this morning.
