A 5th grade student in Cumberland County has been presented the Key to the Town of Pleasant Hill for his bravery and actions in helping other students in a recent bus accident. Pleasant Hill Mayor Lisa Patrick gave the key to Kadyn Page.

Back in September of this year, Kadyn and nine other children found themselves in a church bus accident on Highway 70 West in Pleasant Hill.

Any ordinary child Kadyn’s age would have been very nervous to act following the crash. But Kadyn’s actions proved different.

He first freed himself from his seatbelt after the bus turned over on its side. The first thing he saw was students in their seats hanging by their waist from their seat belts above him. He immediately started to free them.

“There was a hatch on the roof of the bus that flew open when we crashed. I helped the other kids out then I helped the bus driver who was 28-weeks pregnant out of the bus,” Kadyn said to 105.7 News. FULL STORY HERE
