IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR VOTERS GOING TO POLLS THURSDAY

It goes without saying this is one of the most unusual election day coming up tomorrow ever.  Not because of the offices up for grabs or even the candidates.  The process of voting is one we’ve never encountered.  We talked to Jill Davis, the Administrator of Elections in Cumberland County, about any changes there might be for voters going to the polls Thursday.  She told us that it is being recommended each voter wear a mask.  It isn’t a requirement but a recommendation.  All poll workers will be wearing a mask and gloves.  Each voter will be provided with a glove if so desired for signing in and touching the voting machines – which will be sanitized after each voter has used them.  Also, there will be markers denoting the distancing of 6 feet for voters standing in line.  Ms. Davis also asked us to stress that voters must vote in their precinct – not at the Election Commission office downtown.  Here is a link to show you where you should vote.  The Election Commission office is only used for Early Voting.  Voting precincts will open at 8am Central and close at 7pm
