FIVE EMERGENCY VEHICLES SCREAM THROUGH TOWN TO A MASSIVE CRASH ON GENESIS ROAD

While visiting with meteorologist Steve Norris at his Main Street office today shortly after 2 o’clock, a Sheriff’s deputy soared past us with siren screaming.  Moments later an ambulance screamed by, then another ambulance, then a Tennessee Highway Patrol sped past us.  Finally,  a third ambulance screamed by.  All headed north.  Steve’s emergency scanner was chattering constantly and soon we understood what was happening.  A massive wreck about 8 miles out on Genesis Road.  A truck, with just the driver, and a car with a female passenger and two children reported to be nine-years-old.  Both children were flown to area trauma centers.  No word on other injuries.  The wreck is still being investigated.  It’s very important to be alert to emergency responders rushing to critical scenes when seconds matter and could save lives. Always yield to the emergency vehicles and let them get to the scene quickly.
