FIRST DAY OF EARLY VOTING – LOW TURNOUT

Today was the first day of early voting in Cumberland County.  While it’s true there aren’t a lot of races to vote in, only three contested, the voter turnout was low compared to previous first day’s.  Only 289 had voted as of 4:3opm today.  The vast majority of the votes cast were in the Republican Primary given there aren’t any Democrats running for local office other than Register of Deeds  Judy Graham Swallows who is unopposed in the Democratic Primary and no opponent in the Republican Primary.  Of the 289 votes cast today, 19 were in the Democrat Primary.  Early voting continues until April 26th.
