Two local women suffered injuries during a Monday afternoon crash in Cumberland County.

47-year-old Melissa Redfield of Crossville received treatment at Knoxville’s U.T. Medical Center. 70-year-old Cynthia Winfree of Cookeville underwent treatment at Roane Medical Center.

The accident happened at the 339 eastbound mile marker.

A Tennessee Highway Patrol crash report said Winfree’s 1999 Lexus became disabled in the right lane. Officials said Redfield’s Nissan Versa struck Winfree’s vehicle, which could not move into the right shoulder due to construction.

The report indicates that charges are pending against Redfield.
