According to reports a Florida man ran out into the path of a tractor-trailer rig on I-40 near the 293 mile east-bound marker this afternoon. The truck hit the victim who was killed instantly. There were no charges filed and the THP is investigating the incident to find out why the man ran into the path of the truck.  Traffic was backed up for more than two hours on I-40 eastbound due to the incident.
