CUMBERLAND CO COURT DATE FOR MAN WHO STOMPED DOG TO DEATH MONDAY

A Cumberland County man is due in court Monday after he allegedly stomped the family dog to death. According to reports, on July 27, 50-year-old Michael Abston arrived at a Junior Camp Road home to discover there were no cigarettes in the house. Abston reportedly became very angry when neither his brother nor his sister had a cigarette. A little later Abston went into a rage and allegedly kicked and stomped the family dog to death in front of his brother and sister. The siblings tried to intervene but the pet did not survive the brutal attack. According to the Crossville Chronicle, Abston reportedly told police that he didn’t see any problem with killing the animal because it was his dog. Abston was arrested and charged with animal cruelty. Michael Abston’s court date has been set for August 13. (102WOWcountry)
