CROSSVILLE POLICE CHIEF BEATY FIRED

Crossville Chief of Police Dave Beaty was fired today by City Manager Greg Wood. According to sources, the reason given was “things hadn’t changed since Beaty was put on probation” relating to consistent turn-over at the Police Department.

Beaty, who has served as Chief of Police for more than 20 years, was rehired as Chief in January of 2017 after he had already retired and taken a buy-out from the City in 2015.  Interim Police Chief Rodney Shoap was hired to replace Beaty but he resigned in 2016.  Detective Mark Rosser was then appointed to serve as Chief until Beaty was rehired.
