CROSSVILLE MAN DIES SOON AFTER BEING ARRESTED FOR INTOXICATION TUESDAY

A Crossville man died shortly after being arrested for public intoxication.  Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox told CROSSVILLE NEWS FIRST that 49-year-old Steven Sabine was arrested near Browntown Road in western Cumberland County around noon Tuesday and was transported to the Justice Center.  Soon after deputies arrived with Sabine he began showing signs of fainting. Deputies called for an ambulance and Sabine was rushed to Cumberland Medical Center where he died soon after arrival.  Steven Sabine is the son of Crossville attorney and former County Commissioner Harry Sabine.  The body has been sent to Nashville for autopsy to discover the cause of death.  Sheriff Cox told CNF he has called the TBI in to investigate the incident which is normal protocol when someone dies while in custody.
