CROSSVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH CHILD RAPE, POSSIBLE OTHER VICTIMS SOUGHT

District Attorney Bryant Dunaway has issued a press release concerning a Crossville man who was arrested over the weekend and charged with child rape. The DA’s office is also asking the public for help in identifying other potential victims.  Sources indicate the victim was a four-year-old child who was under the care of Walz in his home on Ivy Avenue in Crossville while the mother was away.  Below is the District Attorney’s Press Release

CROSSVILLE, TN – Over the weekend, Investigators with the Crossville Police Department and the District Attorney General’s Office began to investigate allegations of sexual abuse committed by John Raymond Walz, age 65. The alleged victim is a minor child.
On Saturday, October 22, 2016, arrest warrants were issued and served charging John Raymond Walz with Rape of a Child. Rape of a Child involves the act of sexual penetration with a child under the age of 13. The crime occurred at the home of John Raymond Walz in Crossville TN.
The investigation into this matter is on-going. There is reason to believe that there may be other victims of sexual abuse by John Raymond Walz.
