A 65-year-old man was killed in an industrial accident at a Putnam County plant Wednesday.

It happened at M&E Industries Inc. after police said a cap came loose from a “highly pressurized” tank, hitting Dewey Mayberry in the chest.

Mayberry was taken to Cookeville Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead

Mayberry had worked at the facility since 2003.
