CMC PATIENT CHOKED AND RAMMED NURSE INTO WALL
Crossville Police were called to Cumberland Medical Center around 5 am Thursday for an assault call. Upon arrival, the officer learned a patient in the hospital had assaulted a nurse.
The nurse said that about 5 am she had gone to the patient’s (whom we’ll identify as Robert) room to administer meds. She left the room and returned later and that’s when Robert got out of the bed and put the nurse in a chokehold with his hands around her neck. The patient then rammed the nurse’s head into a wall before anyone else could get to the room. Robert is still a patient at the hospital and awaiting transfer to another facility and was not taken into custody. The nurse suffered a bruise above her right eye and was treated by the hospital staff.

You left out a very important detail in your story. Why did the patient do this to the nurse? Assault is never a good reaction but I have run across some Mean nurses in my time.

Who cares why he did it!? Who cares if it was a mean nurse? Bottom line he did it! Since he is still in TBE hospital I certainly hope he is cuffed to the bed until they transfer him to another facility, which by the way should be the Justice Center! And this nurse needs to file charges to be sure this happens! The medical personnel are dealing with enough and don’t need some jerk like this making it worse!

Why would ANYONE deserve to be treated like this more less a nurse who is trying to care for you? C. Fur go so you should be ashamed of yourself

Honestly doesn’t make a damn why he did it. It was a woman and he shouldn’t have put his hands on her. Period. Let alone a nurse who’s out here trying to save lives during a pandemic. Shouldn’t matter if she didn’t come check on him as quick as he thought she should or didn’t administer a med he thought she should. Ask for a different nurse or a supervisor. And keep your manchild hands to yourself. Not that hard.
