CHILDREN TIED TO CHAIRS WITH SHEETS AT TENNESSEE DAYCARE
Sheets were used to tie children to chairs during lunch at a Murfreesboro daycare, a state investigation revealed.
According to a report from the Tennessee Department of Human Services, investigators made an unannounced visit on March 27 to Salem Academy, a daycare for children ages six weeks to five years, to speak with staff and review surveillance video as part of an investigation into a complaint.
The complaint involved two educators, who worked with toddlers, using sheets to restrain the children to chairs so they could not get up during lunch, a department report explained.
It also stated the two would restrain children while they were in time out and would smack the hands and bottoms of children in disapproval, while one would pull children’s ears hard enough to get them to stop what they were doing.
