(102.5 WOW COUNTRY) The Jets are District Tourney Champs! The Cumberland County High School Jets posted a 63-44 win over the Grundy County Yellow Jackets in the District 7AA Championship game Saturday night at Bledsoe County High School. CCHS, the District’s regular season champs and the tourney’s top seed, improves to 21 and 7 on the season and the Jets have now won 13 games in a row. Cumberland County’s Josh Dykes, Lee Hale and Ryan Graham were named All-Tournament and Silas Clark was the Tournament MVP.

The CCHS Lady Jets claimed the crown as the District 7AA Tournament Champions with a 54-43 win over the host team, the Lady Warriors of Bledsoe County Friday night. After the Lady Warriors erased an 11 point Lady Jet lead and tied the game at 41, the Lady Jets ended the game on a 13 to 2 run to improve to 26 and 2 this season and add the District Tournament title to their regular season District championship. Cumberland County’s Jessica Hedgecoth, Kiara Wilson and Addison Wilson were named All-Tournament and Gracee Dishman was selected as the Tournament’s MVP. Both the CCHS Jets and Lady Jets will host first round Region Tournament games; with the Lady Jets taking the court on Friday and the Jets returning to action on Saturday.
