CCHS ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH ROCKY GORA PASSES
Cumberland County High School is mourning the loss of one of its assistant football coaches. Sources say Coach Rocky Gora collapsed on a golf course and later passed away in the hospital.
Here is the message from the Jets Football page:
As most know Jets Football lost a beloved family member today. Coach Rock was a wonderful coach, friend and mentor to many young men. He shared his love and knowledge of the game and made them better people and players. He will be greatly missed. Please say an extra prayer for his family, our coaches, players and entire football family. We are a family and most don’t understand until they are there themselves. We love you Coach Rocky

I didnt have to many conversations with coach Rocky but even though he took care of us greatly and cared for us on a different kind of level. Coach Rocky loved both the game and the players as if they were family. It kills me to find out over the weekend that he passed, may God rest his soul and may we play more then our hardest to win this year in his name-JAMES “Barbwire” Griffin

Everyone who knew Rocky is saddened and shocked to hear that a man who was so full of life has suddenly been called to Heaven. My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, children and extended family. His Mom was one of the most loyal parents and supporters of our program while I was privileged to coach him while I served at CCHS. Years later, he coached my son as the circle of life continued. Rocky loved the game. He played, coached and lived with a contagious enthusiasm seldom seen. Go rest high on that mountain, Rocky! Please know I treasure every moment I spent with you!
