BLEDSOE CO FATHER AND SON FIRE SHOTS TOWARD A RESIDENT FROM TRUCK, SHOTS FIRED BACK

A Bledsoe County father and son have been arrested for allegedly firing shots at a man in his own front yard. According to the Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department, the incident began Sunday with a verbal confrontation between Michael Swafford and another male subject in the area of Simmons Rd and Old Mountain Rd. A few hours later Mr. Swafford and his son Joshua Swafford drove to the residence of the male that was involved in the earlier confrontation. The male subject was working in his front yard as the two passed by. A short time later the two pulled back up in front of the home and began to fire shots from the cab area of their pickup truck in the direction of the victim at which time the victim retrieved a nearby shotgun and returned a single shot back at the two Swafford males striking their truck in the left front fender. Witnesses stated that they heard 3-4 shots fired from the truck. Later that evening deputies went to the Swafford residence and placed both gentlemen under arrest for Aggravated assault and Reckless Endangerment. Both are awaiting bond in the Bledsoe County Jail.
