AMBER ALERT UPDATE: BOTH THE MAN AND THE TEEN SUSPECTS IN KILLING GAS STATION CLERK

Police say the man and teenage girl at the center of a Amber Alert are both suspects in the murder of a gas station clerk in west Nashville.

Officers found 28-year-old Daniel Clark and 15-year-old Trinity Quinn near the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Charlotte Pike around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Metro Nashville Police Department spokesman Don Aaron said a truck driver noticed Quinn standing on the side of the road and called police.

Officers swarmed the wooded area with guns drawn, yelling at Clark and Quinn to surrender. They were found in a ditch not too far off the road.

Police said Clark and Quinn were taken into custody without incident. Both were taken to the West Precinct for questioning.

Metro police said both Clark and Quinn have given statements and will be charged with criminal homicide, especially aggravated robbery and attempted auto theft.

Investigators searched a backpack belonging to the suspects and said they found a gun inside.

Police are calling Quinn a suspect because they believe she had ample time to get away during the shooting but chose to flee with Clark instead.
