87 COWS KILLED, TWO PEOPLE INJURED IN BIG RIG WRECK IN OVERTON COUNTY

(105.7 News) A tractor-trailer accident this morning (Wednesday, June 21, 2017) on State Route 84 in Overton County resulted in two injuries and the deaths of nearly 90 cows being hauled on the rig. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the 2006 Peterbuilt driven by 23-year-old Justin White of Temple, Georgia lost control while traveling north on the highway near Dry Hollow Road. White and a passenger, 21-year-old Jody Glass, were transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Officers say the majority of the cows either died in the accident or had to be put down from injuries sustained.
